We would like to call for the attention of ALL PHARMACISTS and PHARMACY STUDENTS with regards to the unequivocal position statement issued and circulated via e-mail by the Pharmacy Council, namely the registering body and independent arbiter of the pharmacy profession, to all registered pharmacists on the 11th October which stated:
“In the light of recent developments with regards the Pharmaceutical degree offered by the University of Malta – the MPharm, the Pharmacy Council would like to inform you that this qualification qualifies as an entry level qualification into the profession. This means that Pharmacists graduating with an MPharm have the right to apply for registration and licence to practice. The same applied in the past for students graduating with a PhC, B.Pharm and B.Pharm (Hons.) and the same will apply to those who will be graduating with a BPharm (Hons) until 2015. Therefore this means that for general entry requirements into the profession, all qualifications are equivalent.”
We urge licenced pharmacists and students alike to be guided and feel reassured by this statement. Should you still have any queries we advise you to contact us on info@spizjara.org or 79003024.
